Five Year Anniversary

Today, marks the fifth-year anniversary of Brandon’s Horror Review.

The original site, created on Blogger, has remained online this entire time. The site did transition to WordPress a few years back, but in early 2022 I took it offline and moved my reviews over to Middle-Aged Fat Kids.

After doing some soul searching about my blogging habits, I realized I missed my little horror outlet, and I began rebuilding the site from scratch. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done around here, especially with the older posts and formatting for mobile, but it’s online and here for this fifth-year anniversary.

I’ve never run a blog as long as I’ve run this one. Even if you end the time of me actively updating it earlier this year, it still exceeds my longer blogging run. I’m proud of that. Horror films have played a huge role in my life and I’m glad I have a little place to honor them and share my opinions.

In 2022, blogs are not as in fashion as they once were. It seems the internet has moved onto video essays and TikToks. That’s okay. I’m going to kick back here and write about a genre that I love and will hopefully help some folks discover some movies they may have missed out on.

My goal moving forward is to update posts and make this site as mobile friendly as possible. I’m going to try and increase the number of articles I write to include alongside the bi-monthly reviews. I’m also going to make sure I focus on having fun and not making this blog a chore, which I think is partially what led me to take it offline earlier this year.

I really appreciate anyone who has stopped by and read a review or left a comment. It means a lot to me that you take time out of your busy schedule to hear the ramblings of this old video store clerk.

Thank You
